Highlander remake finds its Kurgan: Dave Bautista

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Is it possible that the long-delayed HIGHLANDER remake is actually moving forward? Would appear so. Latino Review is reporting Dave Bautista – who made a very memorable impression in Guardians of the Galaxy last year as Drax the Destoryer – has nabbed the villainous role of The Kurgan in the film, which is being directed by Cedric Nicolas-Troyan.

Latino Review is usually pretty reliable with these scoops, so I think we can mark this one down as legit. No one has been cast in the least role of Connor MacLead as of yet, but I would guess that announcement isn’t far off.

Here’s the plot of the original:

When Scottish clansman Connor MacLeod discovers his true identity as a member of a legion of immortals, he embarks on a legendary journey spanning continents and centuries, eventually landing in modern-day New York City. Connor faces his ultimate test when other immortals begin to appear in the city, leading to a titanic showdown where only one can claim victory.
