Insane sales trailer for Timur Bekmambetov produced Squirrels warns you to hold on to your nuts

Back in May we brought you the news on an insane-sounding project from producer Timur Bekmambetov titled SQUIRRELS, a new horror-thriller coming at us from Red Sea Media and written by Daniel Antoniazzi & Ben Shiffrin, based on an idea by Bekmambetov. Bekmambetov is best known as the director of the international hits NIGHT WATCH, WANTED and ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER and will be producing through his production company Bazelevs.

Today we have an early sales trailer for the flick and it's both hilarious and horrifying for all the same reasons: the idea of these cute little rodents developing a taste for flesh and attacking in groups makes me laugh, but I doubt I could outrun these mean little buggers. So hold on to your nuts and check out the sales trailer below.

When a young man’s estranged father is killed under suspicious circumstances, he returns home for the first time in years to get to the bottom of the mystery.  Hoping to uncover some logical explanation, he instead finds his mom’s sleazy new boyfriend, a natural gas company buying up the town, an angry female sheriff who happens to be his ex-girlfriend, and an army of flesh-eating squirrels hellbent on destroying everything in their path due to an erosion of their food chain as a result of environmental destruction by the gas company.

Extra Tidbit: Does SQUIRRELS sound like it has potential to be a fun and frightening flick?
