John Corbett cast in The Boy Next Door

Joining in on the Blumhouse thriller THE BOY NEXT DOOR, starring Jennifer Lopez (below), is John Corbett (above) who will play Lopez’s ex-husband in the pic, which THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS helmer Rob Cohen is in negotiations to direct. This news comes in after we learned last month that Kristin Chenoweth would be starring alongside Lopez as the best friend. Right now I'm still not sure how to feel about this one but I do like the addition of Corbett, he's definitely solid actor, so there's that!

Lopez will play a newly separated mother who finds herself attracted to the teenage boy who moves in next door and befriends her son. When she starts and then abruptly ends their illicit romance, he’s not ready to let her go in a very FATAL ATTRACTION kind of way.

Barbara Curry wrote the script while Jason Blum, Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, Benny Medina and John Jacobs are producing. Zac Unterman is serving as an executive producer. THE BOY NEXT DOOR is set to shoot later this fall so I'm sure we'll be hearing plenty more from this thriller soon enough so stay tuned!
