Leatherface will take on Stephen Dorff!

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Breaking news coming from the boys at Bloody Disgusting: Stephen Dorff, from THE GATE, has joined the cast of LEATHERFACE as a Texas Ranger.

BD describes the character as a “lean, mean Texas Ranger who has a vendetta against the teen boy who grows up to become Leatherface.” The character’s name, Hal Hartman, is worth noting because the main villain in TEXAS CHAINSAW 3D (aside from Leatherface, of course) was corrupt Sheriff Burt Hartman (played by Paul Rae). Obviously, Leatherface isn’t the only chap with a shady background.

Dorff has a host of genre credits to his name, including SPACE TRUCKERS, BLADE, FEARDOTCOM and IMMORTALS. But he’ll always be the kid from THE GATE to me. (Sorry Stephen!) The actor joins a cast that already includes Angela Bettis, Sam Strike and James Bloor. The prequel is being directed by Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury, the French duo behind INSIDE and LIVID.
