MTV rebooting Teen Wolf series next

Throughout the year so far, we have been sharing the news that MTV is going to be rebooting their SCREAM TV SERIES from the ground up. The last we heard on that was Biggie and Faith Evans' son was cast in the reboot, along with a rapper named Tyga.

Now I don't know if anyone out there cares about MTV's TEEN WOLF series - or the fact that it is currently being primed for a reboot ala SCREAM - but since the SCREAM posts seem to be popular among the masses, maybe these will be too. But we'll see...

Anyhow, yes, Variety is reporting that the current plan is for MTV to give their TEEN WOLF series a reboot after this latest season ends. The network is in talks with creator/showrunner Jeff Davis to turn the series into an anthology with a new cast (and some returning characters) and a new setting.

On top of that, there is a (strange but possibly brilliant) plan to continue the show's current narrative as a podcast after the series wraps this summer.

MTV president Chris McCarthy

These characters and these stories have hit a peak. We are talking with Jeff about how do we actually keep that franchise alive. And the beauty of the evolution of media is you can see the series going on through a series of podcasts and then see a resurrection of a new class in a couple years.

McCarthy continues:

How do we keep this franchise alive in podcasts, in the spirit of Serial, and then how do we actually reboot an entire new class? Because the heart of MTV is around these timeless issues of young people and coming of age, but the timely piece will be the whole new cast, new set of issues and stories to explore through them. With Teen Wolf, we have such a beautiful gem. And when you have a creator like Jeff that is such an amazing partner and the fan base that is hungry for more, we're crazy not to.

The podcast is in its early stages but is said to possibly premiere shortly after the series finale, and the possible reboot would, of course, come to fruition later down the line.

McCarthy continues further:

We want to give it enough time to let the series finale marinate a year or so, and then when we find the right story and the right cast, look to resurrect it.

We may keep you guys up to date on further news involving MTV's TEEN WOLF, but we'll see. I think we are currently stretching our horror roots here with even this post. But it's really all up to you guys, so let us know what YOU think on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram!

MTV's SCREAM Season 3 reboot will premiere in March 2018.

TEEN WOLF stars Holland Roden, and that's where my interest piques.
