Natalie Dormer enters The Forest in new trailer and poster

It's slim pickins for horror fans for the foreseeable future until the stateside release of THE FOREST, the David S. Goyer-produced thriller taking place in Japan's supposedly-haunted Aokigahara Forest. (The film wasn't actually shot there; it was filmed in Serbia.) To get you in the spooky mood, an international trailer and poster have been unveiled over at Empire. Check them both out below.

Directed by Jason Zada and starring Natalie Dormer and Taylor Kinney, THE FOREST goes like this:

A young American woman, Sara (Dormer), journeys there in search of her twin sister, who has mysteriously disappeared. In the company of expatriate Aiden (Kinney), Sara enters the forest having been well warned to “stay on the path.” Determined to discover the truth about her sister’s fate, Sara will have to face the angry and tormented souls of the dead that prey on anyone who dares come near them. These malevolent spirits lying in wait for Sara at every turn will plunge her into a frightening darkness from which she must fight to save herself.

THE FOREST hits the U.S. on January 8th; it moves across the pond to the UK on February 26th. If you missed the very cool motion poster for the flick, check it HERE.
