New zombie flick Here Alone gets a poster & trailer

Back in 2005, I think it was, I started getting more than a little sick of zombie movies. They were everywhere, and they came out in droves and doves. I'm not going to make the obvious comparison for your information, I'm just going to move right ahead and say again that I got sick of zombie movies back in 2005.

That was over 10 years ago now. And even now the zombie films have not stopped hitting us one after the other. That said, I always keep my eyes out for the films within the sub-genre that attempt to carry on the George A. Romero zombie themes, and make the films about more than just countless hordes to kill.

Case in point, the new film HERE ALONE seems to be a film about the end of the world and three strangers struggles within that world. Zombies seem to be an afterthought. I mean, in every horror movie the threat has to come from somewhere. If you're able, and willing, to give me a compelling set-up and characters, sure go ahead and use zombies. It worked for THE BATTERY.
