Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters get slimed in first trailer

Last Updated on July 21, 2021

Here it is, folks. Our first real look at a movie that has already been on the receiving end of hate and anger for a year and a half, director Paul Feig's reboot of GHOSTBUSTERS.

Starting out with a nod to the heroic deeds of the original Ghostbusters team, the trailer proceeds to give us a glimpse of how the film mixes nostalgia-stirring classic GHOSTBUSTERS elements with Feig's comedic sensibilities. It ends up looking like a potentially entertaining blend to me.

Many movies that are initially met with outrage win a large portion of the audience over with their trailers, so I'm interested to see if that happens in this case.

Written by Feig and Katie Dippold, this new take on the GHOSTBUSTERS stars Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones as the ghost busting team, along with Chris Hemsworth, Neil Casey, Andy Garcia, Michael K. Williams, Matt Walsh, Pat Kiernan, Cecily Strong, and Charles Dance. There are cameos by original GHOSTBUSTERS stars Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson, Sigourney Weaver, and Annie Potts, as well as Ozzy Osbourne.

GHOSTBUSTERS is set to reach theatre screens on July 15th.
