A new, dark vision of the Brothers Grimm fairy tale Sleeping Beauty is on the way, as XLrator Media will be releasing THE CURSE OF SLEEPING BEAUTY into theatres on May 13th, with a VOD/iTunes release to follow on May 17th.

Directed by Pearry Teo from a screenplay he wrote with Josh Nadler, THE CURSE OF SLEEPING BEAUTY stars Ethan Peck, Natalie Hall, India Eisley, and Bruce Davison.

Synopsis:

Thomas Kaiser (Peck) inherits an ancestral mansion that has been in his family for generations — only to learn that he has also inherited an ancient curse stemming back to the Crusades. Forced into his new role as "protector" — the guardian appointed to keep the evil demons in the house at bay — Thomas must unravel the mystery of the house, while struggling to awaken the beautiful Briar Rose (Eisley), held captive in a terrifying netherworld seen previously in his dreams.

It's a tale we're all familiar with, and to help you decide if this new telling of it is something you'll be interested in checking out next month, below we have a look at the film's trailer and poster.

When the project was first announced, Teo said he was drawing inspiration from things like SILENT HILL, PAN'S LABYRINTH, THE CELL, and INSIDIOUS, so this could be something to behold.
