Star Trek’s Bruce Greenwood is the latest to join Nic Mathieu’s Spectral

The cast for Legendary Pictures and director Nic Mathieu's upcoming SPECTRAL continues to grow as The Wrap has learned that STAR TREK's Bruce Greenwood has now signed on to star alongside the previously announced James Badge Dale and Max Martini in the supernatural thriller that has been likened to a 'supernatural BLACK HAWK DOWN'.

It was only yesterday when we learned that WARM BODIES' Cory Hardrict had joined the ever-growing cast, and today's addition of Greenwood instantly elevates SPECTRAL to one of my most anticipated films as Greenwood is one of those rare underrated actors whose involvement with any project makes it a 'must see' for me.

What we originally learned about the project is that it is centered on a modern-day, militaristic, and gritty approach to fighting the supernatural. Sources say the pitch, which sold for six figures, has been described as a darker and more serious take on a GHOSTBUSTERS-like story, with a plot that revolves around 'a special ops group formed to bring down evil ghosts that have taken over Manhattan.'

The original treatment was purchased from Ian Fried, though George Nolfi wrote the script with an assist from rewriter John Gatins.

Look for more on SPECTRAL soon.
