Here it is: Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon are our new GHOSTBUSTERS. That’s no doubt a talented cast, one that will hopefully bring something special to the long talked about reboot. THR got the news, who reports that negotiations are ongoing but the quartet are expected to sign on as the specter-seeking foursome in the reboot, which is eyeing a summer shoot in New York.
McCarthy and Wiig aren’t much of a surprise, really, considering the two worked with Paul Feig before, both breaking out with the director’s BRIDESMAIDS comedy. Jones, who is currently on screen in Chris Rock’s TOP FIVE, joined SNL early last year and this fall was promoted to feature player status. McKinnon has been on SNL since 2012 and last year was nominated for an Emmy for her work.
After all the bullshit surrounding this film for so very long, it’s nice to see that it’s starting to take shape. More on this one as we get it!
