The Collector’s Marcus Dunstan directs Pilgrim for Hulu series Into the Dark

For the last year, Hulu and Blumhouse have been collaborating on a series called Into the Dark, which sees a new Blumhouse-produced feature film being released through the Hulu streaming service every month, each feature having something to do with a holiday or notable date or event that occurs within its month of release. The 12-part series began with the Halloween-set film THE BODY last October and wrapped up this month with PURE, which was set on Daughters Day.

When Hulu and Blumhouse announced that they would continue working together on another season of Into the Dark, I figured there would be some kind of gap between seasons, as there tends to be with TV shows. But that's not the case with Into the Dark. The first movie of the second season is done and ready for an October 4th release. Directed by THE BODY's Paul Davis, it's another Halloween tale and it's called UNCANNY ANNIE.

Now the Austin Film Festival has revealed what this November's Into the Dark entry is going to be. Marcus Dunstan, director of the THE COLLECTOR series and co-writer of the FEAST trilogy and several SAW sequels, has written and directed a Thanksgiving horror movie called PILGRIM.

Inspired by true events, in an attempt to remind her family of their privilege and help them bond, Ms. Anna Barker invites Pilgrim re-enactors to stay with them over Thanksgiving. When the ‘actors’ refuse to break character, the Barker family learns that there is such a thing as too much gratitude.

PILGRIM will be making its world premiere at the Austin Film Festival, which is set to take place from October 24th through the 31st. Going by the usual Into the Dark release schedule, it will probably be available to watch on Hulu as of November 1st.
