The Conjuring 2 begins filming on a blessed, foggy set

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Filming has officially begun on director James Wan's sequel to his 2013 hit THE CONJURING, and to mark the occasion Wan has shared a couple pictures from the set to his social media accounts.

In an image posted on Facebook and originating from producer Rob Cowan, a priest is seen blessing the set before the cameras start rolling.

On his Instagram, Wan posted a picture of himself standing in the fogbound backyard area of the set.

Both pictures were taken inside a soundstage, and the sets that have been built in there look very impressive.

Wan co-wrote THE CONJURING 2 with sibling screenwriters Chad and Carey Hayes, who also wrote the first film. Eric Heisserer and David Leslie Johnson did additional work to the script, which was inspired by the case of the Enfield Poltergeist.

Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga are reprising their roles as paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. They're being joined in the cast by Simon McBurney and Frances O'Connor. O'Connor's character is

the mother of a girl who is experiencing a haunting and desperate for help.

I'm assuming the home seen in these set pictures is the one where the haunting occurs, and while it's not an exact match of the real Enfield Poltergeist location, it does resemble the place.

THE CONJURING 2 is set for a June 10, 2016 release, and I can't wait to see it.
