There was no way in hell David Fincher’s THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO was going to receive anything less than a PG-13, not with the profoundly graphic material the book contains. Still, you never know if a studio will try to whittle down their content to achieve a more audience-friendly rating. Sony, thankfully, isn’t playing that card.
THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO has received a (hard) R, for brutal violent content including rape and torture, strong sexuality, graphic nudity, and language.
Yikes. When was the last time a major studio release boasted all of that?
