WPX official trailer

Now here’s a no-budget horror flick with tremendous promise! From writer/director Christian Ackerman (THE BECOMING) is a new monster movie called WISCONSIN PROJECT X, said to be laced with a dry sense of humor, old-school horror movie motifs, and everyone’s favorite…mutant zombies!

Apparently in the works since the dude was in high-school, Ackerman employed family and friends to achieve his vision, which, according to a synopsis, looks like this:

Suddenly, out of the blue, the small quiet town of Wisconsinville, Montana is attacked by humanoid monsters. A scientist from this town is responsible, having created an artificial living organism by accident while experimenting with preservatives used in the Snack Cake Industry. The humanoids deform, mutate, and run loose around the town. They start killing and destroying everything in sight. A group of underdogs, comprised of the only two police in Wisconsinville, hero Ralphie (Ackerman) and friends try to stop these monsters and save their town.

I’ll just say this. If WPX halfway resembles the 1980 creature feature HUMANOIDS FROM THE DEEP, I’ll instantly catapult this baby to the top of my Netflix queue.

Get a gander at the official trailer underneath and tell us what you think!
