Zombieland 2 adds Zoey Deutch

As I'm sure we all know by this point in time, director Ruben Fleischer's ZOMBIELAND sequel is set to go into production this January and will be headed towards a release in October 2019 – coinciding with the 10th anniversary of the first film. Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, and Abigail Breslin are reprising their roles from the original and today we have word the film has cast its first non-original role.

Zoey Deutch is set to join ZOMBIELAND 2, but it is unknown at the time just who the hell Deutch will be playing. Zombie or otherwise. Horror fans with teenage girls at home might recognize Deutch from such flicks as VAMPIRE ACADEMY and BEAUTIFUL CREATURES. To all the rest of us, she'll at least now be known as "the actress that was in Zombieland 2." So that's something.

ZOMBIELAND 2 will be set 

In a world in which zombie slayers must face off against many new kinds of zombies that have evolved since the first movie, as well as some new human survivors. 

Original ZOMBIELAND director Ruben Fleischer returns to helm and is re-teaming with original writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese (DEADPOOL, DEADPOOL 2). Gavin Polone produces and Reese and Wernick will also executive produce. Lauren Abrahams will oversee the project for the studio. The sequel is set to go into production January and will be released in October 2019 –- the 10th anniversary of the first film.
