Hulu is already making genre waves with its original content like the upcoming Stephen King adaptation 11/22/63, but they aren't stopping there. The streaming company is currently closing deals to order two more intriguing pilots.

The first of these is Citizen, a series from from American Horror Story vet Alfonso Gomez-Rejon (THE TOWN THAT DREADED SUNDOWN). The show, which will be his writing debut along with co-writers Josh Pate and ‎Nicholas Schutt, is:

a fresh take on the hero origin story blending elements of magical realism and gritty vigilantism set against the backdrop of a vibrant, “supernaturalized” Los Angeles.

The second series, When the Street Lights Go On, was a Blacklist script originally being developed into a movie. From writers Chris Hutton and Eddie O’Keefe, the 80's set thriller is a coming-of-age story about:

a sleepy, suburban town that is rocked by the brutal murder of a high school girl and her teacher in the summer of 1983.

Both projects are beginning casting, set to continue Hulu's suddenly booming production arm.
