Robert Rodriguez’s action-thriller Hypnotic has just welcomed Hala Finley (We Can Be Heroes, Mand With a Plan) to the cast. She joins Ben Affleck and Alice Braga, who boarded the film earlier this year. The story revolves around a detective (Affleck) who becomes entangled in a mystery involving his missing daughter (Finley) and a secret government program.
Robert Rodriguez (Alita: Battle Angel, Machete) and Max Borenstein are writing the script, with Rodriguez, Studio 8 CEO Jeff Robinov, John Graham, and Mark Gill’s Solstice Studios producing. Rodriguez and Finley are already acquainted after the pair worked alongside one another on the family superhero film We Can Be Heroes. Finley played Ojo in the film, a mute character who communicates through art.
Filming for Hypnotic is scheduled to begin on Monday, September 27, in Austin, Texas. In addition to co-writing the script, Rodriguez will also direct.
