ILM video puts the spotlight on the creation of Lando’s Millennium Falcon

SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY presented us with younger, sleeker versions of Han Solo (Alden Ehrenreich), Lando Calrissian (Donald Glover), and the Millennium Falcon itself. The fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy wasn't quite so disheveled at this point in STAR WARS history and actually looked quite pristine under the ownership of Lando. Giving one of sci-fi's most iconic vessels a makeover was no small feat, and the team at ILM explored quite a number of possible variations. A new video from ILM, seen above, dives into the creation of Lando's Millennium Falcon and puts a spotlight on the various differences between this vessel and the one which we've loved for decades.

I'm still a little confused as to why Disney didn't push SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY into the December slot which turned out to be such a perfect fit for THE FORCE AWAKENS, ROGUE ONE, and THE LAST JEDI. Despite what people may have thought about the final film, I really believe that it would have performed significantly better during the holiday season, because as it stands right now, SOLO is the STAR WARS franchise's first real box-office failure, taking in only $392 million worldwide.

SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY is now available on DVD/Blu-ray/4K Ultra HD.
