Images emerge from the set of Critters: A New Binge web series

Syfy may be going into production on a new CRITTERS movie next month in South Africa, but right now I'm more concerned about whether or not we'll ever see Critters: A New Binge, the web series ZOMBEAVERS' Jordan Rubin directed earlier this year for Verizon's streaming service go90 – a service that no longer exists. If you were looking forward to watching A New Binge, there is some hope to hold on to: word is going around that the web series will be receiving some kind of release in March, with an official announcement coming soon.

Written by Rubin, Al Kaplan, and Jon Kaplan, the web series consists of eight 10 minute episodes, telling a story about

the Critters returning to Earth in search of one of their kin, who was left behind years ago during an earlier mission. They land in Burbank, California, where they wreak havoc on a group of high schoolers and their families.

Filming on Critters: A New Binge took place in Vancouver during May and June, and a batch of behind-the-scenes images have arrived online, having been shared to the Facebook group Critters Rehatched. Those images are embedded below and give a look at some of the Critters (a.k.a. Krites) that were created for the show. The one wearing goggles is already becoming a fan favorite even before we see it in action.

The four original CRITTERS films were released from 1986 to 1992, and Scream Factory recently put them all out on Blu-ray. (You can purchase the collection at THIS LINK.)

I really hope Critters: A New Binge will be released in March. After twenty-six years of waiting for more CRITTERS, I don't want to see the first attempt at a revival end up being a "lost" entry in the franchise.

The names of A New Binge's cast members haven't been announced, but it is known that Thomas Lennon did a day of work on the series.
