Lionsgate has just premiered the new Jason Statham actioner Mutiny. Statham collaborates with Plane director Jean-François Richet and is joined by Annabelle Wallis, Roland Møller and Adrian Lester. In MUTINY, after witnessing his billionaire boss’s murder and being framed for the crime, Cole Reed (Jason Statham) boards a cargo ship on a one-man crusade to avenge his boss’ death only to discover an international conspiracy.

With the release of Mutiny, people are knowing what to expect from the film. Maybe even without seeing the trailer. It’s pretty common to say a movie is “a Jason Statham film” and know it’ll be a journey of comeuppance for a bunch of villains. Lionsgate would lean heavily into Statham’s reputation and post on their official Instagram that IMDb, the internet movie database, has officially created a sub-genre of “Jason Statham Action” as Mutiny gets its release.

Now that the film has made its premiere, what are they saying about Statham’s newest? Lionsgate recently debuted a cheeky poster that hardcore references how this is Die Hard-on-a-ship. It’s not likely that it will reach the height of the first Die Hard, but is it fun regardless?
