In NY? Want to see Insidious, Hobo with a Shotgun or I Saw the Devil early?

NYC’s famed Lincoln Center isn’t just a home to prestigious operas and ballets. Their Film Society consistently offers up generous helpings of unusual, obscure cinema in addition to the standard classics. I myself have been fortunate enough to see flicks like THE HOST and AMER there, well before they got proper releases in the states, and now it seems another grand opportunity is presenting itself thanks to Film Comment; the movie mag has selected a handful of must-see motion pictures for us lucky folk in NY (and those of you willing to travel here too see these nasty nuggets before everyone else).

Among the titles in this series are Jason Eisener’s HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN (Feb. 18th), Kim Ji-woon’s outstanding I SAW THE DEVIL (Feb. 20th), Werner Herzog’s CAVE OF FORGOTTEN DREAMS (Feb. 20th), the Japanese splatterfest COLD FISH (Feb. 24th), James Wan’s INSIDIOUS (March 3rd) and John Landis’ BURKE & HARE (March 3rd). Some of these come with Q&A’s with the director – like BURKE & HARE – so I’d say it’s quite worth it to check out one or more of these badboys.

For the full list of programs, head on over HERE. The program runs from FEBRUARY 18th – MARCH 3rd.
