In Search of All American Massacre: Documentary on lost Texas Chainsaw film coming in November

In the late 1990s, word came out that Tobe Hooper‘s son William Tony Hooper was going to be directing a short film called All American Massacre, which would see Bill Moseley reprising the role of Chop Top from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (get it HERE). What was originally expected to be a 10 to 15 minute short reportedly ended up with a running time of 60 minutes… but fans never got to see this Chop Top movie. More than twenty years after All American Massacre was filmed, it still hasn’t been released. So producer/director Edward Payson has made the feature-length documentary In Search of All American Massacre: The Lost Texas Chainsaw Film in hopes of learning more about this buried project.

In Search of All American Massacre: The Lost Texas Chainsaw Film is set to be released through Amazon Prime, Tubi, and Plex on November 30th. Coming to us from Anti-Hero Productions, the documentary includes

a thorough breakdown of All American Massacre; a new interview with Greg Herger, who played Grandpa in All American Massacre; never before seen footage and pictures; as well as a documentary team chasing leads about rumors to the film’s whereabouts.

Payson and Herger are featured in the documentary alongside Felissa Rose, Jose Prendes, PJ Baio, and Payton Petrone.

All American Massacre is set years after The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, and would feature flashbacks to Chop Top’s time with his family before the events of the first movie.

Incarcerated for years in solitary confinement at a Texas psychiatric hospital, one of the most notorious killers of the past century is interviewed by a tabloid news crew, recalling fond memories of happier times in his younger years.

Moseley and Herger were joined in the cast by Todd Bates as a younger Chop Top and his twin brother the Hitch-Hiker, Stephan Lokotsch as Steven, Danielle Burgio as Nikki, and Buckethead as Leatherface.

I’ve always been hoping that we’d see All American Massacre someday, so I look forward to seeing what is dug up about it in In Search of All American Massacre: The Lost Texas Chainsaw Film. Are you interested in this documentary? Let us know by leaving a comment below.
