Hard to believe but it appears that Indiana Jones 5 has officially wrapped filming. After spending years in development hell and suffering delays, producer Frank Marshall has announced that the film wrapped up production with a post on Twitter.

Marshall posted an image of an “Indy” hat given to the cast and crew as a wrap gift on his Twitter. The caption simply reads, “That’s a wrap!!! #indianajones.” You can check out the Twitter post below!

The fifth installment of the franchise doesn’t have an official title yet but it follows 2008’s Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. It took years for a fifth film to get off the ground and it wasn’t until 2016 that Disney announced a 2019 release date for the movie with Steven Spielberg back to direct and Harrison Ford returning as the titular character.

More delays stalled the project and the film was pushed back even further. By 2020, Spielberg passed on directing duties to James Mangold, although he’s still on the project as a producer. When Mangold came into the fold, creative plans changed which resulted in the penning of a new script with Jez and John-Henry Butterworth. Mangold had previously collaborated with them on Ford v Ferrari.

In addition to Harrison Ford headlining the cast, the film also stars franchise newcomers Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, Thomas Kretschmann, Boyd Holbrook, Shaunette Renee Wilson, Toby Jones, Antonio Banderas, and Oliver Richters.

Are YOU excited that Indiana Jones 5 has wrapped filming? The film is scheduled to hit screens on June 30, 2023.
