Indiana Jones 5 set photos reinforce time travel plot rumors

New Indiana Jones 5 set photos posted by the Daily Mail have reignited rumors that the highly-anticipated sequel will involve some form of time travel. In the photos, snapped on location in Sicily, Phoebe Waller-Bridge can be seen dragging Harrison Ford’s Indiana out of a ditch before collapsing in the muck. If you scroll down a bit farther, you’ll see an army of Roman gladiators complete with historically accurate weaponry and armor. Does anyone here have Doc Brown’s phone number because it looks like Indy could use a trip back to his own time in a Dolorean?

In recent months, photos of Ford wearing dots on his face have been making the rounds online. These photos suggest that de-aging technology will be implemented in the new film, fanning the flames of the time travel rumors even more. Of course, the tech could only be a part of a flashback sequence or two, but who’s to say there aren’t more elaborate plans in the works?

The new Indiana Jones 5 set photos may hint at some time travel shenanigans, but this isn’t the first time that the franchise has ventured into the realm of science fiction. Does anybody here remember Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull? Do you recall how that chapter of the series introduced Indy to inter-dimensional beings? No? Perhaps you were still recovering from the scene in which Shia LeBeouf’s Mutt Williams swings through trees with a barrel of monkeys? At any rate, it sounds like Indiana Jones 5 could go to some outrageous places, and I am all about it.

Indiana Jones 5 will once again find Harrison Ford reprising his iconic role, and he’ll be joined by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, Thomas Kretschmann, Boyd Holbrook, and Shaunette Renée Wilson. James Mangold is directing from a script he co-wrote with Jez and John-Henry Butterworth. The film is slated to hit theaters on July 29, 2022.

What do you think about Indiana Jones 5 possibly involving time travel? Is this the best way to celebrate Indy’s final adventure? Do you think Harrison Ford is enthusiastic about being dragged through the mud? I doubt it.
