THE SPACE BETWEEN US is part science fiction fantasy and part teen romance. The film features an impressive cast including Asa Butterfield, Britt Robertson, Carla Gugino and Gary Oldman and is directed by Peter Chelsum. The story revolves around a young man born on Mars during a dangerous space mission. Unfortunately for the boy, he faces incredible challenges including loneliness and feeling that incredible need to find a father he never knew. This adventure has elements of THE MARTIAN as well as the John Carpenter classic STARMAN.
We recently sat down with Asa and Britt to talk about the ultimate long distance relationship. Britt was quick to point out that she'd argue it is better for two people to not always be together. Asa discussed playing such a uniquely vulnerable character, and Britt also opened up about teen rebellion. We also had the opportunity to talk with the incredible Carla Gugino. The actress is terrific here as the motherly figure to Asa's character. She opened up about taking on this particular character and working with Asa.
