On November 23rd, Fox Searchlight Pictures will release HITCHCOCK, the love story about one of the most influential filmmakers of the last century, Alfred Hitchcock and his wife and partner Alma Reville. The film takes place during the making of Hitchcock’s seminal movie PSYCHO.

In the film, Jessica Biel plays actress Vera Miles, whose relationship with the Master of Suspense was rather tension-filled. Hitch had planned big things for Miles, offering her the female lead in VERTIGO only to see her turn it down in favor of starting a family. And you don’t just say “no” to Hitch. When she joined the cast of PSYCHO a couple of years later, things weren’t exactly comfortable between the two. I sat down with Biel to discuss the challenges of portraying a real person, as well as what she learned about the connection Miles and Hitchcock shared.
