Matt Damon is a rarity in Hollywood. He is a nice guy that starred in a successful action franchise, yet he is just as good taking on the more dramatic and even comedic roles. Damon can do it all. And that includes writing (he also co-wrote this movie). In his latest film, PROMISED LAND, he portrays a natural gas salesman who is finding himself in the middle of the “fracking” controversy – the drilling of natural gas and the possible consequences.
When I sat down to speak to him, we talked about the writing process and about working with John Krasinski. We also spoke about the fantastic chemistry he shares with the phenomenally talented Frances McDormand with whom he co-stars here It is always a pleasure to talk to Mr. Damon as he is sincerely one of the most genuinely enjoyable actors around – and he’s pretty darn talented as well. PROMISED LAND opens on Friday in limited release.
