Ben Foster is one of the most talented actors in Hollywood. The man can elevate every single feature he is involved in. Whether it is 3:10 TO YUMA, ALPHA DOG, THE MECHANIC or even 30 DAYS OF NIGHT, he just brings everything up a notch. With his second feature starring Woody Harrelson and directed by Oren Moverman entitled RAMPART – the first was the Academy Award nominated THE MESSENGER – he may take on a smaller role, yet he is also credited as a producer on the film.

It is always a pleasure talking to this incredible talent who also happens to be a hell of a nice guy. He is soft-spoken and honest, yet he is fiercely willing to go the extra mile for each project. To prepare for his role in RAMPART he spent some time on skid row. He talks about the experience and also what it means to be a producer on the film. He also filled us in on a few projects that he is working on, all of which I am personally looking forward to. And yes, this interview was conducted before the film CONTRABAND was released in case you were wondering. RAMPART opens in limited release this coming Friday.

” I spent time living in Skid Row and that kind of cracks you open a bit…”
