Interview: The Amazing Spider-Man’s Denis Leary!

Walking into an interview with Denis Leary, it’s hard to know what to expect. I still clearly remember the take-no-shit, ranting and raving Leary from the MTV days, and while he’s since settled down to become a greatly respected, Emmy-nominated writer and actor (“Rescue Me”), it’s probably not a stretch to believe he’s still got that old audacious swagger in him.

However, the Leary I met was a calm and gentle soul, not too unlike the character he plays in THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN, George Stacy, a police captain who finds himself right in the middle of Spider-Man’s exploits; not to mention those of Peter Parker, whom it just so happens only has eyes for one Gwen Stacy, the Captain’s baby girl…

“It never felt like we were making an action movie.”
