On June 22nd, 20th Century Fox and filmmakers Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov will finally unleash ABRAHAM LINCOLN: VAMPIRE HUNTER, a film that explores the 16th President’s secret life as a killer of bloodsuckers.

I most likely don’t have to tell you that sitting across from Tim Burton, if only for a brief chat, was a dream come true for a guy who grew up watching PEE-WEE’S BIG ADVENTURE, BEETLEJUICE and BATMAN over and over until my VHS copies were worn out. The man is still one of the most visually unique directors working today, and while he serves strictly as producer on ABRAHAM LINCOLN, he was one of the very first to be intrigued by Seth Grahame-Smith’s book (he was in contact with the author before the novel was even completed) and became a key participant in its journey to the big screen. There wouldn’t have been enough hours in the entire day for me to pick Burton’s brain to my satisfaction, so I had to make due with about three minutes… But I’ll be eternally grateful for those three minutes.
