Interview: Underworld Awakening star Kate Beckinsale!

Selene is back! If you are an UNDERWORLD fan, this is not to be taken lightly. After all, Kate Beckinsale is stunning as the “Death Dealer” out to destroy the ones who had allegedly killed her family. And after taking a break from Vampires and Lycans for RISE OF THE LYCANS, she returns with a vengeance in UNDERWORLD: AWAKENING.

I’ve been a fan of this lovely lady all the way back to Kenneth Branagh’s MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, and have remained one throughout her career. Not every actress can have a resume that includes wonderful indie dramas like SNOW ANGELS, THE LAST DAYS OF DISCO and COLD COMFORT FARM, larger budget pics like THE AVIATOR and CONTRABAND, to return to a franchise like Underworld.

A true beauty, yet not a hint of arrogance, I once again had the pleasure of talking with this gorgeous talent. She talked about returning to the franchise. She also spoke about the possibility of another chapter and how her jumping skills have gotten better. I guess another sequel will be decided by how many fans of the series return for Awakening, which opens this Friday at a theatre near you.

Of course, in addition to our interview, we shot a special scene from the new feature which you can check out below. In it I had the rare opportunity to appear on-screen opposite Kate’s Selene. She may be tough on her own, but together… we were ready to kick Lycan tail!
