For the most part, Netflix’s universe of Marvel TV shows were enthusiastically received by fans, with the one exception being Iron Fist. Although the series showed improvement with its second season, Iron Fist never got the chance to right the ship when it was cancelled along with all the other Marvel shows on Netflix. With several stars returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Finn Jones told Geekscape Podcast that he would love to return as Iron Fist, if only to prove all the doubters wrong.

Finn Jones starred as Danny Rand, a martial arts expert with the ability to call upon a mystical power known as the Iron Fist. “Of course I would [return]. I’d love another chance,” Finn Jones said. “I care about [Danny Rand] deeply. I believe in that character, I believe there is a lot of work that can be done… I love the underdog narrative. I love the ability to prove someone wrong. And I want to prove all those mother f***ers wrong. I know I have it in me, and I know I can give the Danny Rand performance that fans want.

The actor recently admitted that the first season of Iron Fist wasn’t what it should have been, but felt that the second season did a lot to fix the mistakes. “Season 2, we really understood what the flaws were, and we worked hard to course-correct the show. And in my opinion, we did…We did a fantastic job bringing that show back up to code,” Jones said. “Unfortunately, just a month after that show had…premiered, all of the shows got deleted because Disney wanted to create their own series, they wanted to do their own thing on their own platform, which is understandable. But it was a shame that it kind of, just when we were out of the gate, ready to kind of go running, we were just, like, yanked.” Jones has previously spoken of an MCU return, suggesting that a Heroes for Hire series with Mike Colter’s Luke Cage would be the perfect way to do it. “I loved working with Mike [Colter] and I loved the on-screen chemistry between Danny and Luke,” Finn said. “I think it’s a really interesting creative place that show can be taken in. I’d love to pick up that mantle again and keep moving this character forward and make the best possible Iron Fist there could be.

Would you like to see Finn Jones return as Iron Fist in a future MCU project?
