Ironheart: Lyric Ross joins cast of the Marvel series

THR has reported that Lyric Ross, one of the stars of NBC’s This Is Us, has joined the cast of Ironheart. Marvel’s latest Disney+ series stars Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams, “a genius inventor who creates the most advanced suit of armor since Iron Man.

Riri Williams was created by Brian Michael Bendis and Mike Deodato back in 2016, and was introduced as a 15-year-old MIT student who managed to reverse engineer Iron Man’s armor to create her own and caught the attention of Tony Stark himself. As for who Lyric Ross will be playing in Ironheart, THR says that she’ll be playing Williams’ best friend. Also starring in the series will be Anthony Ramos (In The Heights), and while the nature of his character is being kept under wraps, sources have told THR that he could be playing the show’s villain. Any guesses?

Chinaka Hodge is serve as head writer on the Ironheart series. Hodge has previously penned episodes of Snowpiercer and Amazing Stories, but she’s also a poet and playwright known for For Girls with Hips: Collected Poems and Writings, Dated Emcees, Chasing Mehserle, and Mirrors in Every Corner. Ironheart is expected to start production in Atlanta this June. As for Lyric Ross, she can currently be seen starring in This Is Us as Déjà Pearson. The hit series is currently in the midst of its sixth and final season. Before we get to Ironheart, we’ve still got a few Marvel Cinematic Universe TV shows set to debut, including Moon Knight on March 30th, followed by She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel, Secret Invasion, and the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special.
