It’s Carrie vs. the government in trailer for Homeland’s seventh season

I can scarcely recall the first few seasons of Homeland, you know, the Nicholas Brody years, but the Showtime series is still going strong and it's seventh season is due to debut early next year which pits Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) against a corrupt government. Following an assassination attempt on her life, President Keane (Elizabeth Marvel) broke her promise to Carrie last season by arresting 200 members of the intelligence community without bringing charges against them, including Saul Berenson (Mandy Patinkin). As the seventh season kicks off, Carrie has left her job in the White House and moved back to D.C. where she's living with her sister Maggie (Amy Hargreaves) in order to take on the Keane administration and secure the release of the 200.

A little government conspiracy might be fun, but I do hope that Homeland gives us a fresh spin, if only because this may be one of the last seasons of the series. Showtime renewed Homeland for a seventh and eighth season last year, and it's expected the the eighth will be its last.

The seventh season of Homeland will premiere on Showtime on February 11, 2018.
