Where my girls at!? Shout out to J-Hud y’all, who reportedly just nabbed her follow-up role to her every-award winning performance in DREAMGIRLS. That’s right, ladies! Comingsoon.net is reporting that Jennifer Hudson has signed on to play Forest Whitaker’s daughter in the drama WINGED CREATURES. It wasn’t until I wrote that last sentence that I realized that the best supporting actress of the 2006 Oscars will be playing the daughter of the Best actor of the 2006 Oscars, both in follow-up roles, no less. I hope J-Hud hasn’t let the little golden guy get to her head, and will now only agree to play opposite the actors who won that night, because that will only leave movies with Whitaker, Helen Mirren, and Alan Arkin, thus seriously limiting her roles. Bad career move, I think.
But I digress. There’s been a chunk of CREATURES casting news as of late, and it looks to be shaping into a stellar drama, featuring other notables like Jackie Earle Haley, Guy Pearce, Kate Beckinsale, and Dakota Fanning, as strangers who form a special bond after witnessing a random shooting. These seasoned thesps will be under the watchful eye of director Rowan Wood, who also adapted the screenplay based on the novel by Roy Freirich.
