JACKASS star Chris Pontius (perhaps best known as his alter ego “Party Boy”) has signed on to star in the upcoming Sofia Coppola flick SOMEWHERE. Pontius will co-star with Stephen Dorff and Elle Fanning in the story of an out-of-control actor living at the Chateau Marmont who wakes up one day to find an 11-year-old girl claiming to be his daughter. Pontius will star as Dorff’s best friend and presumed partner-in-crime in the film who may or may not rip of his tearaway pants to reveal a thong and torture Asian shop owners.
Pontius has scant acting experience (he was a goon in CHARLIE’S ANGELS: FULL THROTTLE) but has some connections to Coppola. He’s friends with director Spike Jonze who co-created “Jackass” and was once married to Coppola. How that translates into a starring role remains to be seen. Filming on SOMEWHERE is set to begin this summer.
