Jackman vs. robots

JoBloJoBlo

Hugh Jackman seems to be fond of alloys — four times being laced with adamantium metal, and now he’s ready for some REAL STEEL.

Jackman is considering the Dreamworks project, which sounds like an update of ROBOT JOX and/or a movie version of Rock ’em Sock ’em Robots. The story is described as “a Rocky-esque tale of a fighter who has to reinvent himself when human boxing becomes obsolete, replaced by 2000 pound human-like robots.”

Jackman’s down-and-out Robot Boxing promoter would have to deal with shoddy parts, a clunker with an inexplicable winning streak, and the discovery of a previously unknown 13-year-old son. And it comes from director Shawn Levy (NIGHT AT THE MUSEUMs).

Sounds like a fist-pumping feel-good underdog story — somewhat surprising considering it’s based on an old short story by I AM LEGEND author Richard Matheson.
