Jakob’s Wife: Shudder acquires Travis Stevens film starring Barbara Crampton

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

I enjoyed Travis Stevens' feature directorial debut Girl on the Third Floor (watch it HERE), so I'm glad to hear that we already have a new Stevens horror film to look forward to. His second feature Jakob's Wife is going to have its world premiere at the SXSW Film Festival, and the North American distribution rights have been acquired by RLJE Films and the Shudder streaming service.

RLJE Films will be giving Jakob's Wife a theatrical and On Demand release on April 16th. The film will then arrive on Shudder sometime later in the year. Shudder also acquired the rights to stream the film in the UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.

Stevens wrote the screenplay with Mark Steensland and Kathy Charles, crafting the following story:

Anne is married to a small-town minister and feels like her life and marriage have been shrinking over the past 30 years. After a chance encounter with "The Master," she discovers a new sense of power and an appetite to live bigger and bolder than before. As Anne is increasingly torn between her enticing new existence and her life before, the body count grows and Jakob realizes he will have to fight for the wife he took for granted.

Jakob's Wife stars Barbara Crampton, Larry Fessenden, Nyisha Bell, Mark Kelly, Sarah Lind, Robert Rusler, Bonnie Aarons, and Girl on the Third Floor star Phil Brooks (a.k.a. CM Punk).

An AMP Producton, the film was produced by Bob Portal, Inderpal Singh, Crampton, and Stevens. A couple first look images can be seen below:
