James Franco producing adaptation of Rant, from the author of Fight Club

Last Updated on July 22, 2021

James Franco continues to defy expectations with his behind-the-scenes cinematic career. His latest venture: an adaptation of Fight Club Chuck Palahniuk’s RANT, which the actor-director-writer-teacher-artist-poet just acquired.

Here’s the synopsis of Palahniuk’s book, which sounds predictably bizarre:

Buster “Rant” Casey just may be the most efficient serial killer of our time. A high school rebel, Rant Casey escapes from his small town home for the big city where he becomes the leader of an urban demolition derby called Party Crashing. Rant Casey will die a spectacular highway death, after which his friends gather the testimony needed to build an oral history of his short, violent life.

ADDERALL DIARIES helmer Pamela Romanowsky will write and direct the film, with Franco producing (and perhaps starring?). Stay tuned for more info as it comes in.
