James Marsden and Patrick Wilson rent themselves a Loft

So yet another not very old foreign film is getting the remake treatment. And much like, say, FUNNY GAMES, it’s getting remade by its original director.

The film is called LOFT, a remake of a 2008 Belgian film from director Erik Van Looy (THE MEMORY OF A KILLER), about “five married friends who decide to rent a loft together where they can bring their mistresses. When the body of an unknown woman is found in the loft, they realize that they don’t know each other as well as they thought and begin to suspect one another of murder.” Playing two of the adulterous friends will be James Marsden (HOP) and Patrick Wilson (YOUNG ADULT), both of whom are currently in talks to join the project. The adaptation of Bart De Pauw’s original script will be written by NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET scribe Wesley Strick.

Wilson will soon be heading to television to star in a untitled supernatural drama on CBS, but not before being seen in the Jason Reitman/Diablo Cody dark comedy YOUNG ADULT, as well as INSIDIOUS and THE LEDGE. Mardsen, meanwhile, will next be heard voice acting in the animated family film HOP, followed by the remake of STRAW DOGS. He also still has David O. Russell’s loooong-delayed NAILED waiting in the wings.
