Jamie Dornan is riding high on Oscar-buzz for his performance in awards season favorite Belfast and now it would seem he has found his next big role. Per Deadline, Dornan is set to co-star with Gal Gadot in the Netflix international spy thriller Heart of Stone, which is also coming from Skydance.
Directed by Tom Harper from a script by Greg Rucka and Allison Schroeder, the film’s plot is being kept under wraps but it has been a high priority at Netflix following its competitive auction victory for the project back in January of last year. Skydance packaged the property and took it to market and had several suitors vying for the rights before Netflix snatched them up.
It’s a good time to be Jamie Dornan. While the actor saw box office success from the Fifty Shades of Grey franchise, the films were met with less than enthusiastic critical responses. With his turn in Belfast, he’s earning some of the best reviews of his career and could be headed for a Best Supporting Actor Oscar nomination. Dornan will be seen next in The Tourist, a new series premiering on HBO Max in March.
