While his name may not be as widely recognized as Takashi Miike or Park Chan-Wook, Yoshihiro Nishimura is an Asian director doing very interesting things in the horror genre. The special effects artist/director has already treated us to such notable titles as TOKYO GORE POLICE, VAMPIRE GIRL Vs. FRANKENSTEIN GIRL and MUTANT GIRLS SQUAD, all of which contain some completely deranged, eye-popping (literally) imagery. Now the man is ready to unleash some more of his unique brand of macabre madness with HELL DRIVER.
Some behind-the-scenes pictures from the film have gone up over at the director’s official blog, and it seems as though we can expect more unique body-horror madness from Mr. Nishimura (check out that ride!). From what I can gather, the film involves zombie-killing schoolgirls in post-apocalyptic Japan. That’s enough for me!
HELL DRIVER began production on the 15th. Head on over to Nishimura’s blog to see more!
