Jared Leto transforms in latest poster for Morbius

Sony Pictures has released a new poster for MORBIUS and the image teases Jared Leto's transformation into the titular character. 

MORBIUS follows Sony's back to back Marvel hits VENOM & SPIDER-MAN: INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE which grossed $855 million and $375 million, respectively. The new poster for MORBIUS foreshadows the character's transformation into the living vampire comic book fans have come to know over the years. The image is in black and white and features a slit sliding down his face revealing the beast he inevitably transforms into. You can check out the Twitter embed below.

The film follows Dr. Malcolm Morbius (Jared Leto), a man who suffers from a rare genetic blood disorder who decides to take a radical approach to his treatment, a gamble that initially pays off but eventually turns into an experiment gone completely awry when the good doctor turns into a living vampire as a result. The film's cast is rounded out by Matt Smith, Adria Arjona, Tyrese Gibson, and Jared Harris.

It will be interesting to see if MORBIUS makes its planned release date of July 31, 2020. The coronavirus pandemic has had many films vacating their planned release dates between now and June but MORBIUS' late July release date COULD be safe considering it's long enough down the road to wait and see how this all plays out.
