The internet was certainly left shook on Tuesday when news dropped that Spider-Man isn’t likely to return to the MCU as Sony and Disney are failing to come to terms on a new deal regarding usage of the character. There have been a lot of updates from unnamed sources and vastly more opinions about the matter as fans around the world express disappointment over the character potentially leaving the series. One of those people is none other than Hawkeye/Clint Barton actor Jeremy Renner, who took to social media to send a short message to Sony.

The AVENGERS: ENDGAME actor seems to be as bummed about the news as any of us, and he took to Instagram to let Sony know that he wants the web-slinger to stay with his big new family in the MCU.

Hey @sonypictures we want Spider-Man back to @therealstanlee and @marvel please, thank you #congrats #spidermanrocks #please,” he wrote:

It’s barely been two days since the news about Spider-Man’s potential MCU exit was put into the world, but there have been plenty of developments since then. Among them was an additional source revealing the matter comes down to a producing credit with Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige, and that negotiations are still ongoing. But that doesn’t inspire a lot of faith in people, like DEADPOOL actor Ryan Reynolds, who also reacted to the sad news in his own way.

At the very least, you can watch Spider-Man, Hawkeye and the rest of the MCU team-up — perhaps for the last time — in AVENGERS: ENDGAME right now.
