Jodie Foster eyes Mel Gibson’s hand puppet in this first look at The Beaver

I’m so glad that THE BEAVER got picked up by Summit Entertainment. Sure, they also are the home of TWILIGHT, but they will now also be the home of crazy Mel Gibson’s beaver.

Aside from his personal conflicts, I can’t see why anyone would want to pass on seeing a movie like this one. Gibson running around with a beaver puppet on his hand sounds like a f*cking blast. I even get excited at this new still we got from the film. Notice the uncomfortable smile on Jodie Foster’s face.

Even better news, the trailer is debuting tomorrow! First it will be shown on Entertainment Tonight then will find it’s way on iTunes Trailers. Be sure to come back to the site tomorrow evening to check it out. THE BEAVER is scheduled for release in Spring 2011.

Here’s the official synopsis:

“Two-time Academy Award® winner Jodie Foster directs and co-stars with two-time Academy Award® winner Mel Gibson in THE BEAVER – an emotional story about a man on a journey to re-discover his family and re-start his life. Plagued by his own demons, Walter Black was once a successful toy executive and family man who now suffers from depression. No matter what he tries, Walter can’t seem to get himself back on track…until a beaver hand puppet enters his life.”
