Joe Carnahan is known for making big, loud action movies (SMOKIN’ ACES and this summer’s THE A-TEAM), so when a guy like that expresses interest in directing the big screen adaptation of Garth Ennis’s PREACHER, well… it’s something to be excited about. The comics are gritty and foul, but with plenty of savagely violent action sequence that someone like Carnahan would be able to handle beautifully.

While chatting with SuperHeroHype, Canarahan expressed interest to direct the film. A few months back we found out that the original director (Sam Mendes) was officially off the project, so it’s nice to see that someone out there is lurking to pick up the reigns and make it his own. Here’s what he had to say:

I’m kind of desperate to do another comic book adaptation. And the other thing I’m really keen on or interested in is ‘Preacher’ because I’m a big Garth Ennis fan and I love that series and that’s out there, and that might be something… I really love that. You gotta do the Allfather (D’Aronique) and all that crazy sh*t and I haven’t seen a script and I don’t know what it is, but yeah, we’ll see. Who knows?

I think the producers should call this dude up and offer him the job right now. That’s just my opinion, but it’s true. I mean, why the f*ck not, right? To check out the full story, click HERE, and stick around for more news and updates from PREACHER as we hear it!

THE A-TEAM’s Jessica Biel!
