Joe Dante’s The Hole 3D targeting late summer release

In an informative article over at Fangoria about the state of two 3D horror movies that are having trouble finding distribution, Joe Dante spills the beans that THE HOLE, which has been kicking around for a while, might finally get a solid release this year.

“We’re targeting the end of summer/early fall for a release date and are in discussions with several distributors,” Dante said. Good news for a film that was critically well received at the Sitges and Venice Film Festivals, yet has stunningly avoided interest from major – or even indie – distributors. (It even won best 3D feature at Venice.)
