Joe Lynch, The Walking Dead’s Steven Yeun to team on action-thriller Mayhem

Joe Lynch and Serbia have a good thing going. Lynch (director of WRONG TURN 2 and last year's electrifying Salma Hayek actioner EVERLY as well as the co-host of popular filmmaking podcast The Movie Crypt) is set to return the country where he shot EVERLY for a new action-thriller called MAYHEM.

Mayhem, which is being produced by Circle of Confusion (The Walking Dead), is set to star The Walking Dead's Steven Yeun opposite Samara Weaving, the lead of McG's upcoming coming-of-age horror flick THE BABYSITTER.

The story, penned by Matias Caruso:

tells of a virus capable of making people act out their wildest impulses that infects a corporate law office on the very day attorney Derek Saunders (Yeun) is framed by a co-worker and wrongfully fired. Trapped in the quarantined building, our hero is forced to savagely fight tooth and nail for not only his job, but also his life.

Says Lynch:

It’s not every day you get to throw action, sci-fi, horror, drama and even satire in the genre blender and hit puree, but Matias’  script, combined with a gung-ho cast and crew – especially Steven and Samara – will make for a deliciously dangerous and exciting cinematic smoothie…with a hell of a kick.

If this film ends up anything like EVERLY, we're definitely in for a sweet cinema treat. I can't wait to see what he does with this story! MAYHEM is set to begin production this month in Belgrade, Serbia.
