Joel McHale joins Kevin James in home invasion flick Becky

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

I don't know if we should be covering this movie.

BUSHWICK directors Jonathan Milott and Cary Murnion's home invasion thriller BECKY has snagged Kevin James as the villain and ANNABELLE: CREATION and THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE actress Lulu Wilson in the titular role. And today we hear that Community and DELIVER US FROM EVIL star Joel McHale, has joined the cast along with Amanda Brugel (The Handmaid’s Tale), and Robert Maillet (PACIFIC RIM).

It was originally announced that Simon Pegg would be playing the lead bad guy in this flick before Kevin James took over. Good trade. Pfft. Anyways… written by Nick Morris, Ruckus Skye, and Lane Skye, BECKY is described as "JOHN WICK with a teenage girl" and follows

A spunky, rebellious 14-year-old Becky as she is brought to a weekend getaway at a lake house by her father Jeff (McHale) in an effort to try to reconnect after her mother’s death. The trip immediately takes a turn for the worse when a group of convicts on the run, led by the merciless Dominick (James), suddenly invade the lake house. Becky, not daddy’s little girl anymore, decides to take matters into her own hands in this high-octane action-thriller.

Jordan Yale Levine, Jordan Beckerman and Russ Posternak of Yale Productions are producing the pic alongside Raphael Margules and J.D. Lifshitz of BoulderLight Pictures. Highland Film Group is handling international sales at the upcoming Toronto International Film Festival. UTA Independent Film Group is overseeing domestic rights. Are YOU excited to see BECKY?
